Liberty Physiotherapy have a team of Specialist Neurological and Musculoskeletal Physiotherapists and Rehabilitation Technicians who are trained in Neuromuscular Energising Therapy (NET) which is a specialised hands on treatment technique and approach, specific to the treatment of Neurological conditions.
Our Team specialise in neurological condition that affect the brain, spine, balance or co-ordination as well as many others. Using their skill, experience and NET; a treatment plan specific to each individual will be formulated to help maintain and improve all areas of physical function that can be impaired by a neurological condition.
CHARLES KING MCSP SRP
Consultant Neurological Physiotherapist & Company Director
Charlie qualified in 1985 from University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff as a Remedial Gymnast and Recreational Therapist and became a Chartered Physiotherapist the same year. He worked at Rotherham District General Hospital for 9 years setting up the Neurological rehabilitation out-patient service. Charlie set up his own private practice in 1994 specialising in treating patients with Neurological disorders, including Stroke, Multiple Sclerosis, Head Injury, Parkinson’s and Spinal Cord Injury as well as other movement disorders associated with Chronic back and neck conditions.
He has trained his team to use a completely different and revolutionary treatment technique called Neuromuscular Energising Therapy (NET) which he founded in 1993 and has taught both nationally and internationally to other professionals. This therapy can be used to treat various neurological and musculoskeletal conditions whether acute or chronic in nature and can open the pathways to aid recovery many years after the initial trauma. It often offers rapid/fast progress which is long lasting.
Elaine qualified as a Chartered Physiotherapist from Manchester's Withington School of Physiotherapy in1985 and has worked around the Rotherham area since 1986. She is a member of the Association of Chartered Physiotherapist in Occupational Health and Ergonomics - ACPOHE- and combine her NHS Occupational Health role with Private Sector Therapy.
In 2004 she completed her Pilates Matwork and has full membership to the Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute (APPI) and promotes Pilates as an exercise programme that blends seamlessly with Physiotherapy in the treatment and rehabilitaiton of MSK conditions.
ELAINE BRADSHAW MCSP SRP

She specialises in Musculoskeletal - MSK- Physiotherapy and Manual Therapy and For 27 years has worked in a variety of clinical settings within the Private Sector and the NHS being most recently at The Rotherham Hospitals NHS Trust and Liberty Physiotherapy in Rotherham. Since 2012 when Charlie King relocated to Hollowgate House she has been responsible for the development and advancement of Pilates within the clinic. Elaine's philosophy is to empower clients to reach their full potential through functional rehabilitation with advice and education for self management.
TAMAR YEGNIAN MCSP SRP
Senior Neurological Physiotherapist
Tamar graduated from Manchester Metropolitan University as a Chartered Physiotherapist in 2008 after completing a BSC Honours in Physiotherapy. She then progressed to the University of Cumbria where further qualifications in Neurological and Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy were attained
She specialised in Myofascial Release (MFR) and since qualifying worked for a short period of time within a Neurological Physiotherapy Clinic in Manchester and from there she welcomed the opportunity to work for Charlie King in 2009.
Since joining Charlie's Team Tamar has continued to develop her Neurological skills and is highly skilled in the treatment technique Neuromuscular Energising Therapy (NET) which has completely enhance her therapy skills.
As a Senior Neurological Physiotherapist within Liberty Physiotherapy Tamar heads the Functional Electrical Stimulation (FES) team, being experienced in the assessment and implementation of the Bioness, Walkaide, Odstock and Actigait Systems. Her professional development and clinical practice is stimulated by her interest in the continued research into Neurological Physiotherapy.
MARGARET HULME RN
Margaret trained as a Registered Nurse in 1980 and since qualifying worked within the NHS in Pontefract and Wakefield.
In 1996 she specialised in Acute Medical and Surgical Neurology and in 2003 progressed to Acute Neurological Rehabilitation at the Neurological Rehabilitation Centre in the Mid Yorkshire NHS Trust.
As a specialist Neurological Nurse Manager she has worked extensively with Head Injured Patients and individuals with Multiple Sclerosis, Guillian Barre, Parkinson's Disease and Stroke.
Joining Liberty Physiotherapy in 2011 was a natural step in her career allowing her to combine Managerial and Neurological Rehabilitation Knowledge and Skills to progress Liberty Physiotherapy at Hollowgate House. Margaret has undertaken further training with Charlie to extend her knowledge and understanding of Neuromuscular Energising Therapy and she is passionate about helping clients achieve their full potential.
Sharon is a highly skilled Rehabilitation Technician working with Charlie King as an associate rehab technician since 1996. She combined her associate role with her career as a Rehabilitation Assistant within the Mid Yorkshire NHS Trust Acute Neurological Rehabilitation Centre until 2014 before joining the team at Liberty Physiotherapy as a full time Rehabilitation Technician.
As a Rehabilition Technician Sharon gained a vast amount of experience and understanding of Neurological Conditions and the Rehabilitation Therapy that individuals require to progress in their recovery. She has extensive training in the therapy technique Neuromuscular Energising Therapy NET, and since joining Liberty Physiotherapy has continued to develop and enhance her knowledge and skills within Neurological Rehabilitation Services. Sharon is motivated and fully committed in progressing individuals in their long term rehabilitation goals.
Georgina joined the team at Liberty Physiotherapy in 2014 as a Rehabilitation Technician, she worked as a Health and Fitness Instructor within the South Yorkshire area and her professional background has been the fitness industry since 2007 achieving her degree in Nutrition, Health and Lifestyle in 2012 .
As a Rehabilitation Technician she has developed the fitness and exercise therapy programmes (group/1-1) carried out in a Gym and Hydro environment at Liberty Physiotherapy.
She is trained in Neuromuscular Energising Therapy NET and provides Therapy within the clinic and in clients own homes. Since joining Liberty Physiotherapy she has completed her Pilates Matwork and has full membership to the Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute (APPI) as a Pilates instructor.
Neurological and Musculoskeletal conditions impact on the physical, lifestyle and emotional wellbeing of clients and Georgina sees her role as one that helps and encourages individuals to achieve positive changes in their rehabilitation journey.
Emaleen's first visit to Liberty Physiotherapy was when she brought her partner to see Charlie for some Neurological Physiotherapy following his spinal injury in 2013. During these sessions Emaleen was very hands on, wanting to understand how she could continue his exercises away from the clinic. She had a natural ability that impressed Charlie and he invited her to apply for one of the Rehabilitation Technician posts.
Since joining the practice in 2016 she has trained in Neuromuscular Energising Therapy NET and her personal experiences allows her to have an empathy with her clients that they recognise immediately. Emaleen combines her role in clinic with continued education to become a Gym Instructor.
Julie has been the Practice Manager at Liberty Physiotherapy since 2012 when Charlie King relocated his practice into Hollowgate House, Rotherham. She is responsible for the day to day management of the clinic and works closely with the team to coordinate and maintain a seamless service providing a professional friendly environment.
She achieved her BTEC Business Studies during her apprenticeship at British Steel progressing to full time administration in various departments. At the age of 27 started a family whilst continuing to do part time admin/reception positions, progressing to practice manager in a private health sector clinic. This position allowed her to gain extensive administration skills and experience of individuals with health and wellbeing problems.
Marie has been a Receptionist at Liberty Physiotherapy since Charlie relocated to Hollowgate House in Rotherham in 2012.
She has many years of administration experience and has been able to combine family and work life together. Marie works closely with the team and supports the practice manager in her busy working day.
